Becoming an angel investor through Golden Seeds follows three steps. You might want to attend an Open House to learn about membership directly from current members. These are held regularly throughout the year both virtually and in chapter cities. The dates for Open Houses appear on our website. Prospective members are also invited to attend an Investor Forum meeting to observe how Golden Seeds reviews women-led startups pitching for funding. You may request an invitation to a Forum. Golden Seeds membership is open to accredited investors — women and men — who are committed to evaluating, funding, and supporting early-stage, women-led companies. Golden Seeds angel investor membership includes access to vetted deal flow — companies that have passed an initial screening and are presenting to investors — participation in a structured due diligence process guided by experienced members, educational programming through the Knowledge Institute covering topics from angel investing fundamentals to sector-specific training, and membership in a national network of investors. Membership also includes Trend Talks, annual Summit and membership in the ACA.

Members invest directly in companies at their discretion and may also participate in member-managed funds.

Yes, you can become an angel investor without prior investment experience. Many Golden Seeds members begin their angel investing careers through the organization. The Knowledge Institute provides structured education for investors at all levels, starting with an Introduction to Angel Investing course that covers deal flow, valuation, due diligence, and portfolio construction.

New members also benefit from investing alongside experienced peers in a collaborative due diligence process, which provides practical learning alongside real investment decisions. Golden Seeds is designed to be an accessible, supportive environment for investors who are serious about learning and contributing.

Yes. Golden Seeds membership is open to accredited investors of any gender. While Golden Seeds was founded to support women entrepreneurs and has a strong community of women investors, men have been active members since the organization's early years and currently represent a significant portion of the membership. What members share is a commitment to evaluating and funding exceptional companies led by women and a belief that gender-diverse companies produce stronger outcomes for investors and the market. In 2026, approximately 85% of our members are women and 15% are men.
