Golden Seeds Funds offer its LPs unique access to outstanding early and growth stage companies, especially those headed by women. As an outgrowth from our nationwide angel network that invests in businesses having either a woman founder and/or a woman in a C-Level position with significant equity ownership, we have a demonstrated record of investment success.


Our Golden Seeds Funds invest:

  • In early and growth stage companies.
  • The majority of its funds into businesses having either a woman founder and/or a woman in a C-Level position with significant equity ownership.
  • Between $1 and $3 million per round.
  • In consumer products, software, internet, financial services, and life sciences companies - areas where we have an identifiable core competence.

Fund 1


Golden Seeds Fund LP (Golden Seeds' first fund), a vintage 2008 fund, has sixteen companies in its portfolio, and is closed for additional investments in new companies. The portfolio is diversified by sector (technology, life sciences, and consumer goods) and region (investments are across North American, including one Canadian company).

Fund 2


Golden Seeds Fund 2 LP, a vintage 2011 fund is currently taking capital commitments and making portfolio investments. As of March 2011 this Fund has two investments: Hatsize (a SaaS company in Canada) and Cognition Therapeutics (a Pennsylvania life sciences company). Fund 2 is expected to close to capital commitments by the end of 2011, and build a portfolio of 20+ investments through 2013.

The Fund 2 investment committee is made up of the following Managing Partners: Jo Ann Corkran, Jim Estill, Stephanie Hanbury-Brown, Nada Jain, Tim O'Neill, Kathryn Swintek, Peggy Wallace and Joan Zief.
