Investment Process
Golden Seeds provides a supportive, rigorous and timely response to your company's needs during our investment process. All applications for investment must be submitted online and upon receipt the company enters the Golden Seeds screening process.
We are not sector specific as our investors are interested in building diversified portfolios across various industries. Our current portfolio reflects the following sectors as of Nov 2006:
Before entering our investment process, it is important for an entrepreneur to review our investment criteria. Please also note that we do not work with brokers.
- Our investment process starts with receiving an on-line application from the entrepreneur. The company's executive summary should be submitted along with the application. The application is then reviewed by our Screening Committee. Here is a list of our upcoming screening committee meeting dates:

2008 Philadelphia Forum Dates - "By Invitation Only"February 27th June 25th March 26th July 23th April 30th September 24th May 21st October 22nd
Note - Entrepreneurs who are successful at gaining interest from the Forum should be available the following week for a 2 hour due diligence meeting with their management team. - Companies invited to present will do a presentation walk-through with us to ensure they have included all requisite items in their investor presentation.
- At the Forum the entrepreneur makes a 15 minute pitch followed by 10 minutes of questions. The time is rigidly enforced so prior practice on a timed basis is highly recommended.
- The entrepreneur will be notified the same day whether there is investor interest. If yes, then a 2 hour meeting will be scheduled the following day for those interested investors to learn more about the company.
- At the end of the 2 hour meeting the investors will decide whether they are going to move forward into due diligence or not. If yes, a due diligence team is formed and the entrepreneur will be advised of details of our due diligence process
- We expect to complete due diligence within four weeks of obtaining all requested materials back from the company. During this period, if we decide to move forward with an investment, a term sheet will be negotiated with the company.
- Once due diligence is complete, and a term sheet is in place, we will then move to drafting of documents.
- If everything stays on track, we could complete a closing with 6 - 12 weeks of the Forum presentation.
- Please note that if a deal requires syndication, that process may not begin until the 6 - 12 weeks period is completed and can take another 2 - 3 months to complete.
