Golden Seeds Celebrates 20 Years of Investing in Women Entrepreneurs

In the video above, we reflect on the past two decades of our journey and the compelling stories of others who have joined us along the way.

In 2004, Golden Seeds mobilized to level the playing field for women entrepreneurs. Over these years, over 1100 investors have joined our angel network or invested in our venture funds. We have invested over $180 million in 250 companies that have gone on to raise an additional $2 billion. Our training program for investors, the Knowledge Institute, sets the standard for investor education. And our nationwide footprint, with eight chapters and members in 27 states, allows us to find promising women-led companies throughout the United States.

Golden Seeds Partners with Stanford University's eWear for International Women's Day

On March 8, Golden Seeds joined Stanford University’s Wearable Technology Initiative (eWear) to learn about the innovations of ‘artificial skin’ from renowned professor and entrepreneur, Zhenan Bao. Two of Silicon Valley’s leading VC investors, Connie Chan and Michelle Colucci, offered their insights on the state of investing in healthcare and technology innovation. Two entrepreneurs, Xina Quan, Ph.D., Co-Founder and CEO, PyrAmes Inc. and Madhu Stemmermann, Co-Founder and CEO, SunRay Scientific Inc. discussed the journey of women entrepreneurs.

Golden Seeds co-CEO and Managing Partner, Loretta McCarthy, provided opening remarks and welcomed over 100 guests to this event. Golden Seeds is celebrating its 20th year of investing and supporting women entrepreneurs. International Women’s Day has evolved into a global phenomenon, uniting individuals and organizations around the world in celebrating women’s achievements and advocating for equality.
